We have received new prototypes developed in close collaboration with Tangen Engineering. From the moment we powered them up, the results were excellent. The sensors performed better than previous versions—noise sources have been eliminated, integrated batteries are now in place, and we’ve taken important first steps towards improved usability. This milestone is a strong testament to the expertise of the Tangen Engineering team.

Reaching this milestone means we now have all the key components in place to begin testing in the exercise lab. We’re also fortunate to collaborate with NTNUI Triathlon and Cycling, who will provide athletes for the upcoming trials. A big thank you to everyone involved for the dedication and hard work that made this possible.

It was a pleasure to have Adresseavisen visit us at our office in Trondheim! It resulted in a thorough and engaging article that tells the story behind Sonofit, and not least the potential in what we are now developing. Several other papers like Aftenposten and Fedrelandsvennen has also posted the Adressa-article online.

We are working to make advanced training insights simpler, smarter, and available in real time—without blood tests, interruptions, or guesswork. The response so far has been incredibly motivating, and this is just the beginning. We are currently in dialogue with several environments and investors, and are experiencing growing interest in the case. For those closely following the development: there’s a lot happening going forward!

This week we have rolled out a fresh update to our brand, with updated colors, fonts and graphics, a completely refreshed visual profile. You'll see these changes both here on our website and on our LinkedIn page. Remember to follow us on LinkedIn to receive all news going forward.

The goal was simple: create a clearer, more modern expression of who we are and where we're heading.

We're happy to welcome Tryggve Klevstul-Jensen to the SonoFit team!

Tryggve will be joining us one day per week while Magnus is spending the semester as an exchange student in Lisbon. The two will also be teaming up as hardware interns with us this summer.

Both are 4th-year Master's students in Electronics System Design and Innovation at NTNU. Great to have such strong talent on the team.

Just before Christmas, we received the first ultrasound transducers based on our in-house design (left). Only one week into 2026 we achieved high-quality Doppler spectra (right) using these transducers and our prototype electronics. Another important technical milestone reached!

Mathias (seated) has successfully integrated our new flow phantom and pump with the SonoFit sensor and latest electronics. Accurate flow measurements are critical for quantifying thresholds, and this setup plays a key role in validating our measurements. Magnus (standing) provides support as needed.

Our new programmable Wahoo Kickr Bike v2 is already becoming an important tool. In the photo, Gilles is preparing for a training session and data collection, equipped with a sensor on each arm. We're proud to share the very first ultrasound data captured with our own SonoFit prototype! This milestone reflects the excellent work by Tangen Engineering and our in-house engineering team. The top image is acquired at rest, and the bottom image during exercise.

We are exited to share that this week Mathias Svoren started as a developer in SonoFit. Mathias has a background in Mathematics (BSc) and Computational Science (MSc) from the University of Oslo, where he specialised in acoustic imaging. He is also a former international level kayak athlete, bringing valuable experience from both science and sports to the team. Welcome to the team Mathias.

SonoFit is growing, and we're excited to welcome new talent! We're happy to share that Gilles van de Vyver has joined our team to help develop our wearable sensor. Gilles recently completed his PhD in AI at NTNU, and with his passion for sports and software development, he'll play a key role in bringing our technology to the next level.

I am pleased to share that Artem Chernyshov started as full time SW engineer in SonoFit on July 14, 2025. With a PhD in Medical Technology from NTNU, Artem specializes in data analysis and making ultra-efficient AI models. Drawing on experience with medical ultrasound and model minimization, he now develops compact, intelligent algorithms tailored for applications in exercise and athletic performance.

We've successfully completed data collection for "The Sonofit Study – Ultrasound of Healthy Athletes During Exercise." In collaboration with NTNU and CERG, we've recorded 100 data sets, with 25 runners and 25 cyclists each completing two exhaustive exercise sessions.

A heartfelt thank you to all the dedicated athletes who participated. Special appreciation goes to Jesse, Daniel, and Sindre for their work in conducting the measurements and spending countless hours in the lab.

Next up: data analysis and AI model development—exciting times ahead!

Sonofit is lucky to have two summer interns from the Master's program in Electronic Systems Design at NTNU. Georg Bøni Hofstad (left) has one year remaining in his degree while Magnus Carlsen Haaland (right) just completed the third of his five-year program. They will both be working on the first SonoFit prototype. We're excited to have you on board!

I am proud to share the first prototype board of the Sonofit sensor (see picture) developed in collaboration with Tangen Engineering. The board is already up and running and can transmit and receive ultrasound pulses as planned. We intentionally made the board larger to make it easier to work with during development. Stay tuned for more news.

We are pleased to announce the collaboration agreement with NTNU for the project "Ultrasound of healthy athletes during exercise - The Sonofit Study". Data from 25 bicyclists and 25 runners will be collected and analysed as part of the project. Contact persons for the study are Sigmund Frigstad from SonoFit AS and Professor Ulrik Wisløff from NTNU.

We're excited to announce that SonoFit has been awarded a 1 Million NOK innovation grant from Innovasjon Norge to further develop our ultrasound-based athletic performance monitoring technology. This funding will accelerate our research and development efforts, allowing us to enhance the capabilities of our wearable sensors.

The grant recognizes the potential of our technology to revolutionize how athletes train and optimize their performance. With this support, we'll be expanding our team and investing in advanced AI algorithms to provide even more precise insights into training thresholds. We extend our gratitude to Innovation Norway.

We are happy to inform that SonoFit has entered a rental agreement for Schultz gate 1 office space. The central location is very convenient for employees from all over Trondheim.
